A nice view if lake-front. Plenty of space between sites and "extra" spaces available to park your boat if you have one. Red mud abounds so pack old shoes & clothes. Touts itself as being a "resort" park, but clearly the campground is not it's prized jewel - campers are not allowed to use the pool (for cabin and hotel guests only) and the campground roads are not paved (which makes for a slippery road if raining). Golf course is really nice and well-maintained. We stayed on site 21 and it offered lots of privacy.

Great campground! Lots of activities for the kids either at the pool or the covered shelter next to the beach. Rules are enforced (no rough play in the pool, bikes off the road, and exit the pool at 9pm sharp) but this makes for a safe environment for all. Covered shelter at each site is nice. We really liked: each site is pull-through so you only have side neighbors (not butt-to-butt neighbors as at other parks), the proximity of the beach, the ice cream shop, the activities. We didn't like: paying $10/day for Wi-Fi (it's even free at the state park) and not knowing what site you're "assigned" until you check in (they still use a paper method!).

Great place to camp! We camped during the summer and it was very busy, but reasonably quiet considering all sites were full. We did not stay lakefront and I'm glad. It seemed that there isn't much privacy because campers walk through your site to get to the lake. Many boats were parked lakeside. All sites are paved, which is great for a state park and they have a tackle shop nearby with ice and goodies to buy for the kids.

This is a great park if you enjoy the Mt. Pleasant side of Charleston, which my family does. Even though it's away from downtown, there are many things to do. Wal-Mart is within 5 minutes, a family fun park is next door, and the Isle of Palms connector will get you to the beach in about 15 minutes. We enjoyed going to get ice cream at a place named "Ye Old Fashioned", only 10 minutes away. The park was clean, with clean bathrooms/showers, and really nice hosts. We will definitely plan to return.

A great location with lots to do around the area including shopping, movies and restaurants. Lots were of nice size. Playgrounds, hiking and a lake are not in the campground, but a reasonable walking distance within the park. Since we camped on a holiday weekend, it was crowded, but surprisingly not noisy at all. Park Ranger was nice and drove around to inform us of an upcoming storm so we could prepare. Bathrooms could have been cleaner, but I suppose for a holiday weekend they experienced heavier traffic than usual. We will plan to stay here again.
